Abstract
Handball is one of the team games that is characterized by a lot of goals and continuous competition and is characterized by a rapid pace in defensive and offensive moves, which requires the player to have the ability and quick thinking in finding appropriate solutions for these moves, and this depends on the player’s ability to carry out duties properly, as well as This is because the development in the game of handball, especially during the competition period, requires workers in the training field to give special exercises for these movements in order to stop the movement of the player possessing the ball. Represented by the speed of movement of the opposing player and the accurate implementation of defensive duties with the least number of mistakes, and here it depends on the ability of the defending player. Special because it is the best way to prevent the attacking player from scoring the largest number of goals and against him The importance of the research lies in raising the defensive level of the players of the Specialized Center in Basra Governorate and the extent of the impact of these exercises on the cognitive and functional level of the players.
